Onboarding questions
The onboarding questions tell us about your business: what you sell, who you sell to, who you compete with and what you want from search and AI. The better the answers, the better your dashboard and the work delivered to you fit your business.
Opening the questions
Choose Onboarding questions in your dashboard's sidebar. The page opens in the same window, and โ Back to your dashboard at the top takes you back.
What it asks
The questions come in four sections:
- Your business: your business model, products or services in order of importance, the other names customers use for them, competitors, customers, and how visitors turn into customers on your site.
- Content: how you plan and produce content, who reviews it, what you're expert in, and topics that are off-limits.
- Goals: your top goals, the questions you most want AI assistants to recommend you for, keywords that matter most, and how you measure results.
- Your website: known technical issues, past audits, the domains you own, areas that should stay out of search, your content system, and anything that slows down website changes.
The count at the top shows how many you've answered. Some questions have a hint underneath. Optional ones say so.
Saving and changing answers
There's no Save button: each answer saves on its own as you type, and the page says when it was last saved. You can leave and come back any time, and change answers whenever things change. If a colleague has the page open at the same time, you'll see which question they're working on, so you don't overwrite each other.
What to do with itAnswer the competitors and "questions you want AI to recommend you for" items first: they shape what the AI Visibility tab tracks. Write questions the way a customer would ask them. Come back when your products, competitors or goals change.
